Strong Schools. Bright Futures for Every Student.
North Royalton City Schools are known for their excellence - with many phenomenal teachers, caring staff, dedicated administrators, and a community that loves its Bears! Improvements can be made to build on that success and ensure every student receives the education they need.
We have no political agenda - just doing what is best for all our kids.
Our priorities include:
1. Serving as champions for children with learning differences
2. Preparing every student for a future that fits
3. Advocating for better state funding of public education, which will relieve the property tax burden on local homeowners
4. Managing your tax dollars responsibly
Learn more about each priority below.
1. Serving as Champions for Children with Learning Differences
We are running for school board to be strong and consistent champions for children with learning differences. Every child deserves access to an education that recognizes their unique strengths and meets their individual needs, yet too often, students with learning challenges are left behind by systems not designed with them in mind. As board members, we will advocate for inclusive policies, evidence-based support services, and professional development for teachers to better serve neurodiverse learners. Our goal is to ensure that every student—regardless of how they learn—has the tools, opportunities, and encouragement to thrive both in and beyond the classroom.
Key Focus Areas for Students with Learning Differences:
Advocacy for Learning Differences. We will be strong and consistent champions for children with learning differences.
Access to Education for All. We commit to ensuring every child has access to an education that recognizes their unique strengths and learning styles.
Systemic Change. We acknowledge that current systems often fail to support students with learning challenges—and we will work with the administration to modify that.
Inclusive Policies. We will promote policies that embrace neurodiversity and foster inclusion in every classroom.
Evidence-Based Support Services. We will advocate for increased access to research-backed interventions, tools, and resources tailored to diverse learners.
Teacher Training & Support. We will prioritize ongoing professional development so educators are equipped to meet the needs of all students.
Student Success & Empowerment. We will ensure that every student has the tools, opportunities, and encouragement to thrive in school and beyond.
2. Prepare Every Student for a Future that Fits
Our schools should prepare every graduate for success—whether that’s in college, a skilled trade, the military, public service, or entrepreneurship. As your school board members, we will work to provide:
Multiple Pathways to Success: Students have access to high-quality vocational, technical, and career-training programs alongside college-prep courses.
Real-World Experience: We expand partnerships with local businesses, unions, and trade organizations to provide internships, apprenticeships, and on-the-job training.
Early Career Exposure: Students learn about different industries, trades, and career opportunities starting in middle school, so they can make informed choices.
Industry-Recognized Credentials: Graduates can earn certifications and licenses before leaving high school, giving them a head start in the workforce.
Equal Respect for All Paths: We celebrate and promote every graduate’s choice—whether that’s earning a degree, starting a business, or mastering a skilled trade.
Community-Driven Education: Career programs reflect the needs of our local economy, so students can find good-paying jobs right here at home.
By valuing every pathway, we can build a school system that empowers every student to thrive—on the path that’s right for them.
3. Advocate for better state funding of public education, which will relieve the property tax burden on homeowners
As school board members, we will advocate for better, fairer state funding for public schools that would ensure that every child has access to quality education while easing the strain on property taxpayers. Ohio’s overreliance on local property taxes to fund public education places an unsustainable burden on homeowners—especially those on fixed incomes. The state of Ohio must invest more in public education and prioritize our public school system, instead of diverting more than $1 billion in state funds to private school vouchers that drain resources from our local public schools. By increasing the state’s share of public school funding, Ohio can provide stable and predictable revenue for districts and strengthen communities across the state. A stronger, focused state commitment to public education is not just an investment in our children’s future—it’s a step toward a fairer, more balanced tax system for all Ohioans.
Advocate for Better State Funding of Public Education. As school board members, we will put pressure on our state government to:
Relieve the Property Tax Burden: Reduce Ohio’s overreliance on local property taxes, which places an unsustainable strain on homeowners, especially those on fixed incomes.
Increase the State’s Share: Push for a larger share of public school funding from the state to provide stable and predictable revenue for school districts, which will effectively reduce the overreliance on local property taxes
Stop Diverting Public Funds: Oppose the diversion of more than $1 billion in state money to private school vouchers, which drain resources from local public schools.
Strengthen Communities: State investment in public education is a cornerstone of strong, vibrant neighborhoods throughout our state. Well-funded local schools help maintain neighborhood desirability and protect home values.
4. Manage your tax dollars responsibly
Strong schools build strong communities. Like many of you, we chose to live in the North Royalton School District because of its excellent reputation. Every child deserves a top-quality education, and we are committed to maintaining and improving our district’s ability to provide it.
Responsible financial management is essential to that mission. While we will continue advocating for fairer state funding for public education, we must also be vigilant stewards of both state and local tax dollars.
As school board members, we will take two key steps to ensure tax dollars are used wisely without compromising educational quality:
Implement a thorough, transparent budget process that accounts for and justifies every dollar spent. We will ask tough questions about the effectiveness of programs and ensure spending aligns with student success.
Recapture available state and federal funds by aggressively pursuing grants, ensuring more of your tax dollars return to our classrooms.
Locally, we will make smart financial choices that invest in vital programs, attract and retain excellent educators, and provide every student with the resources they need to thrive. By balancing the needs of students, teachers, the community, and taxpayers, we will keep our schools strong and our children’s futures bright.
